We are looking for a Project Coordinator to work on Scottish PEN’s 90th anniversary travelling exhibition. The exhibition, which will tour locations all over Scotland, highlights the role of Scottish writers promoting freedom of expression and international understanding, in the context of Scotland’s literary history since 1927. The Project Coordinator will manage the logistics and promotion of the exhibition and organise accompanying events.
This is a fixed-term post for 14 months offered at NJC Scale 6 point 26, with 0.1 FTE (Full-time Equivalent).
Start date: 17 May 2017
End date: 13 July 2018
Main responsibilities:
- Coordinating travelling exhibition
- Moving exhibition boards to locations, setting them up and taking them down
- Preparing and delivering training for volunteers to present the content of the exhibition
- Liaising with partners at libraries and exhibition spaces
- Liaising with Scottish PEN board and staff
- Evaluating impact of project and presenting findings to board of trustees and funder
Essential skills/experience:
- Event coordination experience
- Experience delivering training
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to enthuse volunteers
- Interest in literature and history, specifically history of Scottish literature
- Experience working with a charity and/or volunteer organisation
- Experience working with multiple parner organisations
- Driving license and access to a car
