Our Project Manager Christina Neuwirth is leaving Scottish PEN at the end of this month.

In thanking her for the tremendous work and service she has given Scottish PEN I know that I join everyone on the board and many in the membership beyond in expressing our good wishes for the future.

In her time with us, Christina has made herself well nigh indispensable. As well as developing and managing the office team, she has overseen a number of major projects and events and has given me invaluable support since I took over as President six months ago. She leaves us having made major contributions to our working and efficiency, as well as laying the basis for many future and developing projects such as Many Voices, about which I know she feels especially passionate.

Christina joined us in January 2015 following her MSc in Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh. After two and a half years at Scottish PEN, she now intends to focus on her work at the University of Edinburgh and her own writing. Christina’s novella Amphibian was shortlisted for The Novella Award in 2016. Her short fiction and non-fiction has been published in magazines, online and in the Nasty Women collection. She leaves us with our gratitude for her work and commitment.

Her last day with us is 30 June.

Carl MacDougall, President, Scottish PEN
